The 5th New Paradigm of Science in Education Conference is composed of nine key note speakers along with their respective nine workshops during the first three days, as well as of conferences presented throughout the fourth day in different worktables. This presentation proposal that we provide here to all those wishing to write about the topics herein, is a novelty to this Conference and we do it seeking to expand and complement the contribution of all speakers. Currently, the new paradigm is no longer new; it is entering the academic world, encouraging us to apply it in our daily lives and to jointly shape its implication in education.
Indeed, this Conference constitutes an invitation to once again change the way we educate, even beginning at our own homes as parents, all the way to the schooling setting at every stage thereof. As adults, parents, and teachers, we are no longer dealing with children and teenagers of times past. Rather, we now deal with people who demand a different type of treatment, of relating to each other, and different ways of teaching - learning. Now our children and youth seek to become collaborators, questing partners, and sometimes even our own guides.
The “absolute” concepts of the 19th Century that were wielded regarding knowledge, science, method and truth, still remain alive in the minds of many researchers and teachers, as if the revolution in Physics and many other sciences, had never taken place. It is for this reason that our own transformation as teachers, as educators, is so indispensable.
Our guest speakers hold a holistic view of reality, and are a quest for the development of the heart and the unfolding of consciousness, which undoubtedly constitute the foundations for a value-centered education. Each from the perspective of their own field of expertise, our guest speakers shall set a path towards an education for the present as well as for the future that will allow us to shape a world of peace and harmony we are all seeking to live in.
